Q&A with New Channels Field Manager Laurie Macintryre

We caught up with Laurie Macintyre, New Channel Field Manager at donorworx, to hear her thoughts on why she was attracted to working at donorworx and what about her job she loves the most.

 What inspired you to get involved in fundraising at donorworx?

It really just happened by chance. Being a mom of school aged kids, I was always looking for part time work. When I saw the opportunity to advocate on behalf of the less fortunate, I was inspired to apply! I had no idea what an amazing opportunity it would be!

What is your education/work background?

I have always worked with the public and have assumed leadership roles. I have worked in retail, home improvement, merchandising. I have volunteered in many youth related organisations from church to sports.

What do you love most about working at donorworx?

It is the most meaningful job. Being the voice for those without a voice is an honor. I once heard someone say that “this is the hardest job you will ever love!” It is so true! I also love the  inspiration that comes from a great group of passionate World Changers.

What makes you such a great face-to-face fundraiser?

I have a genuine passion to help others. Whether it is a person across the street or around the world. I feel that I am able to inspire others to make a difference.

What is your WHY?

It has evolved through the years! Now, I feel that I really want to motivate positive change. I feel that it is not only the life of the child that we advocate for that changes. The donor will forever be changed because of the sacrifice they are making and I love to see the growth and change that happens with my team as we work together to make a difference.
